Self Evaluation and Peer Review

I will give us 6 points. To be frank, I feel ashamed not to respond and write my blog as soon as my key pal, Faith. I am lucky to have Faith as a key pal. She has long period of English teaching experience and mature viewpoint. Through reading her paragraph, I can see things in different ways. Her writing often regards of her life experience about children, her teaching experience, and her goal in pursuing life long learning. I admire her perseverance and diligence to return school even as a mother. I hope that I can have the same learning enthusiasm and write experienced essays as her after several years.
In the case of my writing, I think that I tend to write my personal experience into blogs but forget to convey my opinions. Furthermore, after seeing other classmates’ blogs, I find various merits I can learn from them. Firstly, some of my peers use Q and A writing style. It can classify questions provided and avoid losing focus. When writing a long paragraph, sometimes, I will drop the questions provided or don’t explain it clear. Next time, I have to examine my paragraph carefully when writing lest I should make the same mistake. Secondly, I find out blogs have a function called “follower.” Most of my classmates might have read others’ paragraphs through this function. And, their blogs almost have more than one follower. I think my informative ability should improve since I have not used this function to read others writing. Thirdly, some people post their videos or composition practice related to this course on their blogs. Moreover, some use creative titles in their essays. For me, originality is what I need to strengthen.
In the remaining times, I hope I can write smoothly, constructively and creatively. Besides, through writing blogs, I find I can expand the length of my paragraph freely rather than not knowing what to write. I believe over these days, we two must learn much other than competition writing. Last but not least, I have to say thank you for my key pal,Faith, who doesn’t feel tired to read my writing and response.

  1. Dear Tina,
You have offered very good and deep reflection upon the way you manage your blog. To be frank, I am always very glad to get your response although sometimes it’s a little bit late. However, I myself am quite busy too, so I can understand that. In my opinion, up to now, we have been doing quite well in this writing project: we wrote and responded on the blog before the deadlines set by Dr. Chen; besides, we opened our hearts to share with each other as many ideas as possible. Nevertheless, having gone to other groups’ blogs and read their postings, I got some good inspiration to improve our ways of communication on the blog in the remaining weeks:
    1. If you can post your thoughts onto the blog as early as possible, I can get
sufficient time to give response related to your thoughts instead of just expressing my own opinion on the subject of each task. That’s what interaction really means, isn’t it?
    2. I have decided to give feedback to your writing with the beginning of “Dear
Tina” (actually, I am doing so in this feedback), which sounds more like
    “real and direct” communication.
    3. I will also try my best to give response to your thought as soon as possible and
continue doing so once you post more writing on the blog,

In these ways mentioned above, I hope we both will enjoy or even get some inspiration from this project. As to the evaluation of our work quality, I suggested giving us 7. The three missing points will be meant to remind us of upgrading our communication quality to be more effective and beneficial to both of us. What do you think?

    Best regards,
    Faith

  2. Dear Faith,
Thank you for your suggestions. I like these ways you mentioned especially number two. It sounds like more polite and intimate than our previous ways of response. Also, you use number one, two and three to convey your ideas orderly. It makes me easy to see your opinions. I also agree with you that the missing points are for quality upgrading. Let’s cheer up for each other and make our interaction closer than before.

    Sincerely,
    Tina

  3. Dear Tina,
I am glad you agreed with my suggestions. With our sincerity and agreement, I believe our communication and interaction will improve more and more. I also expected that through this activity we both can gain and learn something that can not only benefit our writing ability but also broaden our horizon as well as enrich the personal limited experiences. Wish luck for both of us.

    Take care,
    Faith
